Manic Monday Make-up & Manis FIRECRACKER Red Lips July 1
July 1, 2013 – April Bush
This week in preparation for Independence Day I am going to give you tips on how to do a FIRECRACKER red lip! Red lipstick can go one of two ways depending on how you do it. It can either look trashy or classy. I would bet that most women are going for the classy look. If you want to do a red lip you want to make sure that it last and that it is neatly done with no bleeding.
Step 1- Be sure to choose a red color that complements your skintone. A true red lip color will look good on any woman when done properly. If you have an olive skintone try an orange tone red color. Women who have a cooler skin tone should lean more towards the blue based reds.
Step 2- Gather your red lipstick, red liner to match, concealer one to two shades lighter than your skin tone, a lip brush, and translucent powder.
Step 3- Using your index finger dab the concealer around your lip and blend.
Step 4- Moisturize with a lip balm (with the many layers, bright color and long staying color you will want to make sure you do not have chapped lips) and then line and fill your lips with the red lip liner.
Step 5- Apply the red lipstick with the lip brush. This will give you better coverage and more control to color in the lines.
Step 6- Apply a thin layer of translucent powder on the top of your red lipstick. Take a tissue and slightly press your lips together with the tissue in between your lips.
Step 7- Apply another layer of red lipstick and volia!
